Rend your heart and not your garments. Return to the Lord your God, for he is gracious and compassionate, slow to anger and abounding in love, and he relents from sending calamity.

Some people in the Old Testament showed their commitment by ripping their clothes apart. Here they were told to worship in their hearts by yielding their hearts to God and not just ripping their clothes apart.
